Jerry O’Sullivan

has been widely hailed as America's premier uilleann piper. His reputation for technical and melodic mastery of the instrument, an Irish bagpipe known for its subtlety and expression, is unsurpassed in the United States, and is demanding considerable attention overseas. Jerry is also widely recorded on the tin whistle, the low whistle, the Highland bagpipes, and the Scottish smallpipes.


Iain Mac Harg

Iain Mac Harg

the son of one of the premier bagpipe builders in the world, has studied with many renowned pipers and has earned the title of EUSPBA 2001 Grade One Season Champion. He has founded two Highland Pipe Bands in Vermont, played with several folk groups, made two solo recordings and published a collection of original tunes for the bagpipes. After completing his Masters in Education, he went on to start the Vermont Institute of Piping where he has over 60 solo students.


Ian Lawther

Ian Lawther

plays the highland bagpipes, Northumbrian and Scottish smallpipes, uilleann and border bagpipes, English concertina, whistles and flute. He began playing as a boy and has more than forty years playing experience, which includes film, TV and radio, as well as orchestral pieces. Ian regularly plays for weddings, christenings, funerals and teaches privately in the Seattle area and at festivals and workshops across the US and abroad. Ian will be teaching both Northumbrian and Border Pipes workshops during the weekend.


John Skelton

John Skelton

was a member of the acclaimed House Band, and also toured with the Irish band Shegui and the Windbags (with Jerry O’Sullivan too). In addition to being an astoundingly good flute player, he is also known for his prowess on the bombarde and Breton pipes and is in great demand for his teaching skills. He and Kieran O’Hare recently recorded “Double Barrelled,” a flute duet CD, which became an instant classic.


Cleek Shrey

Cleek Shrey

(fiddle) is a gifted performer and teacher of Irish fiddling. He was mentored by Brendan Mulvihill, and has spent time digesting and interpreting the music of some of Ireland’s finest fiddlers. He performs regularly with Sean McComiskey, and Matt Mulqueen and appears on a forthcoming release by Cork fiddler John Daly and Irish piano & fiddle legend Josephine Keegan. Cleek teaches fiddle and piano accompaniment at the Blue Ridge Irish Music School and at the Catskills Irish Arts Week and Irish Week at the Augusta Heritage Center.


Bob Mitchell

Bob Mitchell

is recognized as a successful solo competitor in the US and Canada, In 2004 Bob earned a Master/Apprentice Award by the Maryland Commission of the Traditional Arts. He’s worked for 20 years at the Maryland Renaissance Festival and has performed with a number of DC area bands including Iona and Jennifer Cutting’s Ocean Orchestra. Although his greatest area of expertise is Highland piping, he also plays the Scottish smallpipes and Border Pipes.


Maggie Sansone

Maggie Sansone

is an internationally-known hammered dulcimer player and an award-winning record distributor with her own label specializing in Celtic music. Maggie has a lively teaching style and has been teaching for over 20 years. She is the author of eight Mel Bay Publications on the dulcimer and has numerous recordings.
