Showcase Concert: Old World/New World - France & Spain
Dulcemelos, play the Dulcimer Music of Mexico whose roots travels back through time to the music of the Spanish aristocracy who brought the salterio (dulcimer) to Mexico in the 16th century, and follows it's continuing traditions as it thrived there and reflected the heart of the people. The diverse repertoire of Alejandra Barrientos and Héctor Larios includes Mexican folk pieces, European baroque music, salon and chamber music from the 18th century and more recent compositions for plucked dulcimer and piano.

The evening will be capped by the French music of Ensemble Tympanon, featuring Karen Ashbrook, Paul Oorts & Nick Blanton whose repertoire ranges from lively peasant dances, to courtly chamber pieces, from Provencal pipe tunes to Parisian cafe waltzes with a range of instruments sure to intrigue and enchant all.
